Fabric Specifications

Clogger chainsaw protective apparel includes a number of proprietary and technical fabrics and materials to achieve the best possible experience of the wearer. Here are some of the top materials and fabrics with some background.

Arrestex HP – Chainsaw Protective Fabric

Arrestex HP is a high-performance chainsaw protective fabric unique to Clogger.

Traditionally chainsaw protective fabrics works by clogging the sprocket with hundreds of tough polyester, polypropylene or nylon fibres. Clogger R&D team decided to go a step further and developed a high-performance fabric. It incorporates super high strength and cut resistant fibres: the protective pad’s performance is significantly improved. Without adding weight. Or bulk.

Arrrestex HP both clogs and resists cutting

Arrestex HP is certified for use in many countries. Please refer to the Standards and Certification section for more information.

Arrestex FR – Fire-resistant Chainsaw Protective Fabric

While “HP” stands for High Performance, “FR” stands for Fire-Resistant. This special chainsaw fabric was developed to be used in environments where there are arc or fire hazards; or when the regulations require to wear non-melting garments. If you are working in those environments, we urge you to choose the right gear to protect you. Arrestex FR is the only truly fire-resistant chainsaw protection we know of. Make the right choice

Arrestex FR is also certified for use in many countries. Please refer to the Standards and Certification section for more information.

If you have any questions about the need to wear fully fire-resistant protection or the regulations around arc protection please contact us.

Nilit® Breeze

Nilit Breeze is an engineered fibre designed to reduce body temperature. Through its unique molecular structure and its filament cross-sectional profile, body heat is dispersed quickly and efficiently. Laboratory studies have demonstrated that an athlete’s core body temperature can be reduced by as much as 1°C, a very significant reduction! Nilit Breeze fibre is incorporated into the outer fabric used in the Zero trousers range.

Nomex®

Nomex is an inherently fire-resistant fibre used extensively in clothing where there is a risk of fire. Produced by DuPont, it offers good tear strength, comfort and abrasion resistance. The outer fabric used in the Arcmax range uses a blend of Nomex and FR Viscose.

FR Viscose

FR Viscose is a cellulosic (organic) fibre that has been modified to be inherently fire-resistant. It is produced by Lenzing, a leading global supplier of technically advanced cellulosic fibres. The outer fabric used in the Arcmax range uses a blend of FR Viscose and Nomex.
